The legendary birthplace of King Arthur and set in a dramatic coastal setting. Take your English Heritage card if you are a member. There is a good on-site café. Access currently is not good for those with mobility issues although there is a bus. A walkway over the sea is under development to help with this.
There is also a good micro-brewery just outside Tintagel with café and well worth a visit if you like beer.
The Camelot Hotel in Tintagel is a special place to visit ( up-market) and has excellent cakes ( pricey but worth it!)

Quickly becoming one of the area's most popular eateries ( mid-high end prices). It is located in a chic warehouse with balconies overlooking Charlestown, which has tall ships and an old harbour used in many film sets. Charlestown is our favourite destination in the area and the harbour has recently been bough by Tim Smit ( owner of the Eden Project).
We also highly recommend The Pier Hotel in Charlestown, recently renovated and the perfect spot down by the harbour for a drink, pub food and good cakes.

All of Rick Stein's cafes, hotel and restaurants are worthy of a visit. Try the Seafood Restaurant if you want to go upmarket or his fish and chips on the quayside at Padstow if you are on a budget - he was sitting at the next table to us with other chefs on our last visit!

Our favourite location for an easy trip out. Near St. Austell, it has an unspoilt Georgian harbour with tall ships moored in the harbour ( you can sometimes see them sailing too if you are lucky).
