Although the Sameba Cathedral is relatively new, the impressive structure with the prominent golden dome is already iconic for Tbilisi. It is the tallest cathedral in Georgia. There are pieces of holy places in the basement of the Sameba Cathedral. (Rocks from Sion Mountain and the River of Jordan and soil from Jerusalem and the tomb of St. George.)
