Parks & Nature
For a small fee (15ish per car), you may enter Assateague Island. About halfway to the beach, there is a pull-off spot that looks out across the marsh. There are always ponies, at least in the distance. If you're lucky they will be right up along the road. Sometimes they hang out right at the ocean with the other beach lovers.

Everything Else
Chincoteague offers a fantastic, paved nature trail on Hallie Whealton Smith Drive, which is located off of North Main Street, near Chincoteague High School. South side is dog friendly (where the parking lot is located) but no pets on the North side (other side of the road with no parking lot).

Drinks & Nightlife
What seems to be the most popular nighttime spot on the island is Chattie's Lounge which is right upstairs from Don's Seafood. Don's is a great family place to eat. At sundown, the adults gather upstairs for music and drinks.

Entertainment & Activities
For Misty fans...
What could be fascinating, or morbid, depending on how you look at it, is that one of the most notable things at the museum is the actual Misty and her foal. They are the real deal and taxidermy'd for your viewing.
