Super tasty pick-your-own brunch. Great way to avoid the standard bacon-and-egg brunch. Be there early to be sure to get a table (no reservations) and take a walk at Amager Strandpark afterwards.

The perfect place to try the more traditional kinds of Danish/Nordic food. They serve classic Danish dishes that my grand mother would make but in a very elegant (and super tasty) way.

When the weather is good, this is the perfect place to visit for an outdoor lunch or dinner. It's a collections of street food vendors that opened in 2018. I really enjoy walking or biking there as you get to see an area of Copenhagen that is very different from the City Centre. If you go there in the evening (and the weather is with you) you get to experience the wonderful sunset by the waterfront.

A street food market very close to the apartment. I haven't been there yet this year, but last year they had some very decent options and the location is superb. If Grød is open, they are worth a visit. They serve different kinds of porridge which sounds strange but is actually very good!

Sightseeing
If you want to experience Danish food, this food tour is a must-do. They'll explain the histories behind the New Nordic food scene and give you plenty of tastings to make you decide whether Danish food is bland or brilliant. Also, a great way to see parts of the city you might not have found yourself.

If your want to see pretty colourful houses but want to avoid big groups of tourist then skip (or just take a short glance at) Nyhavn and continue to the neighbourhood around Kronprinsessegade and Adelgade. In this area, you can also find Nyboder, a neighbourhood from the 17th century with all its houses painted in a warm orange colour. You won't find any major attractions (though it's pretty close to Rosenborg Palace) but it's just a really nice area to get lost in and look at beautiful old houses.

If you want to see something a bit different from Central Copenhagen, go to Nørrebro which is probably my favourite neighbourhood. Here you'll find a lot of great coffee shops and small inexpensive (Danish standard) cafes and restaurants. If you crave kebabs and falafels this is where to find it. If the weather is nice, buy a coffee or and ice cream and go for a walk in Assistens Kirkegård - a cemetery/park. In this neighbourhood you'll also find excellent restaurants like Bæst, Manfreds, and Nørrebro Bryghus (a brewery / restaurant). Nørrebrogade is the central street in the area but it's more fun to explore streets like Ravnsborggade, Elmegade, Blågårdsgade, and Jægersborggade.

I often take a walk or run from the apartment to Kastellet and back. Kastellet is an old fortress in a star shape. You have an excellent view over the sea and an old part of the city and it's very close to the little mermaid if you feel like seeing her.

If you're in Copenhagen for a few days, consider to spend half a day to go to Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød. It's in my opinion the best castle to visit if you want to experience a beautiful renaissance palace. The palace houses the Museum of National History and you can walk through 500 years of Danish (mostly royal) history. In weekends and school holidays from April to October, you can find museum hosts dressed as the people in the portraits. It will take you about 40 with public transportation to Hillerød and a 15-minutes walk from the station.

What makes this museum stand out is not just their impressive permanent collection and (mostly) fascinating exhibition. What really makes it worth a visit is its beautiful interior and decorations. Enjoy a cup of coffee among palm trees and Greek statues.

The metro stops at Kongens Nytorv. The metro line will take you to the airport in just about 15 minutes. It's easier (and cheaper!) than getting a cap, and it only takes about 5 minutes to walk to the station from the apartment.
In just 1 stop (opposite direction from the airport) you'll be at Nørreport with train connections to Sweden and Northern Sealand.
