Hike the ladder trails along Lake Michigan sand dunes, or if it's hot out, go for a swim. The beaches are beautiful and seem to stretch forever. We're pretty far north here, so unless there's a warm current or you're pretty hardy, an inland lake such as Mauthe Lake, Random Lake, or Elkhart Lake is a cozier choice.

We're pretty far north here, so unless there's a warm current or you're pretty hardy, an inland lake such as Mauthe Lake, Random Lake, or Elkhart Lake is a cozier choice.

When you're done with the water slides, park at the tip of S Pier Dr, and walk out the lighthouse, along the shoreline path, and up the river boardwalk. The north side of the river likewise has many fine shops and restaurants.

The world's tallest symbol of freedom. You can stand at the base and look 400 feet up at a flag that would cover almost half a football field. Park benches by the nearby pond make it a nice place to relax and enjoy.
