Hands down the best place in town for aged prime beef. They are pricey but worth it in my opinion. My favorite steaks are the Bone in New York Strip, Cowboy Ribeye, and the Tomahawk Ribeye. Swanky, gorgeous, modern design. Great service, great wine list and a very well stocked bar. They have a great happy hour in the bar seven days a week from 4:30-6 and from 9-close. They do have a more affordable bar menu if you are in the mood for lighter fare. Their prime bar burger is amazing, and is half off during happy hour. There is a parking garage right next door or you can valet park on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.

The place to go for fresh, quality seafood in Ann Arbor. Real Seafood has been open since the 1970's and has a loyal following in town. I'm a a huge seafood fan, this has been a favorite of mine since I moved to town in 2000. They are open for both lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Jolly Pumpkin brews incredibly complex world-renowned sour craft beers. Not everyone likes sour beers, but if you do then you will not want to miss this place as their beers are almost magical. The food is also great and made with locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. They have a great outdoor patio on the second floor in the back of the building away from the noise of Main Street.

This is a really attractive restaurant with wood fired pizza. When the weather is nice, there is a nice, secluded outdoor seating area facing the woods. They have 1/2 off bottles of wine every Tuesday all day long. It's within walking distance (about 1 mile) if you really want to partake in that offer!

This hands down, the best ice cream I've ever had. It's HOME MADE at their store and has interesting flavors like basil, lavender lemon honey, and matcha! You can always taste the unusual ones if you don't want to commit to an entire scoop. Cute place, outdoor seating, and supporting local businesses.

They have a killer happy hour and doubly good on Wednesdays. If you like Bourbon/Whiskey, this is your place. It's dark, moody, and has great food even if you don't drink alcohol.

Sort of a bar. They're only open March through summer. When Downtown Home & Garden closes for the day, their parking lot turns into a beer garden. Packed and super cool with great beers from everywhere. You can grab some grub from the food carts right next door and bring back. Keep and eye on the weather bc they're closed when it's raining -- it is outside after all. ;)

Another beer place with interior seating and a lovely outdoor seating area. For the beer aficionados for sure. It's kitty korner from Bill's Beer Garden and I've gone here when it's just too crowded at Bill's.... They're open all year long.

Parks & Nature
Nichol's Arboretum is beautiful. Peonies in May and just nice walkability any other time of the year. A jewel of a park in the middle of the city. Out of towners cannot believe such a lovely park exists in this city.

This is one of my favorite golf courses in the area. They offer club rental too if you didn't bring your sticks with you.
This scenic course hugs Ford Lake and is owned by Eastern Michigan University. Water comes into play on a number of holes, there are some pretty significant elevation changes on several holes, trees, and a nice challenge when played from the tips. This is one of those courses where you will likely end up using every stick in your bag.
They often have early morning and twilight specials which can be found on the GolfNow app. If you are a golfer and have not downloaded this app to your smartphone I highly recommend you do so.

This neighborhood market is close to the apartment and is next door to Black Diesel Coffee. You will find a nice selection of craft beer, wine, and liquor here. Whether you are preparing for a UofM football tailgate or just want to pick up something to drink while you relax back at the apartment in the evening this is a great place to go, they are close by, and they are open late.

Because it's a totally adorable old time-y feed market/store with things you might actually find useful and desirable. Seems like cute, little, independent stores like these don't exist anymore and here is one in a fairly metropolitan city.

Sightseeing
Just walk the campus, especially on State Street at South University. The law quad is located there and it's beautiful. The Michigan Union is there too where, on the steps, JFK stood and first proposed the idea of the Peace Corps. Then head to the Diag and look for the big M in the center. Don't walk on it, you'll fail your finals!
