This place is a bit out of the way, but it's seriously one of the best places to hangout in the city. -They have the most amazing wine and cheese selections. -You pick what you want, and you have the option of sitting in their huge outdoor yard. There are a handful of places in New Orleans that do something similar...but no one does it quiet as well as Bacchanal. -They also have an amazing menu if you choose to dine. They recently added an indoor restaurant area and bar...and they make great craft cocktails.

This is a cool little place. Think Parlor rooms, and gorgeous outdoor seating overlooking St. Charles. They have one of the greatest happy hours in the city. Service is not the best, but if you can overlook that, this is a great place to hangout. I prefer this place when it's not busy. It can be a lovely place to indulge in a book while sipping on a cocktail.

This place truly represents what makes New Orleans great. Here you have a very chill dive atmosphere with bar patrons from all walks of life...and yet the tapas here can compete with some of the best restaurants in New Orleans. If you're a foodie, put this on your list of must-do. It's pretty affordable and won't set you back like some of the other foodie-type places I listed.
