Fabulous- childhood favourite, now it has been renovated to bring it right up to modern day. It is beside the Elephant House cafe and near Victoria Street and Greyfriars Bobby- hit them all up at once.

Parks & Nature

Got to do it if the weather is clear, there are different paths up to Arthurs Seat, one of them is very gentle. At the top you get astounding views of the city. It is not a mountain! It is a volcanic rock. You can walk there from the flat by walking up to Bruntsfield and through the Meadows for those keen for a long walk.

Jenners has the reputation of 'Harrods of the North' and had been a historical independent department store since 1838- said to be the oldest in the world. When the original building burnt down it was redesigned by the same man responsible for the Balmoral Hotel a little further up the street. It was THE place to shop for the ladies of Edinburgh before the family unfortunately sold out to House of Fraser in 2005 - sob sob. Although the store is a shadow of it's former glory it is still really worth going into the mens department in the great hall to see the building and imagine the days when it was the Linen Hall.
