If you're headed from Naalehu to Pahala (or past Pahala) take this mountain road, at least once. The scenery is spectacular and the road was recently repaired so it is now fine with a few potholes.

A classic tropical beach that rarely has anyone there. The road (for regular cars) stops about three miles from the beach and for 4x4s you can cut the hike in half.
