Castelo de S. Jorge it's an unmissable place to get the feel of Lisbon history. If you have the time, walk your way up to the Castle, instead of taking a bus or the tram (walk slowly and it won't be very tiring). Follow the tram route and along the way stop at Sé Catedral (Lisbon's cathedral), Sta. Luzia's belvedere and Portas do Sol. Inside the Castle take a tour of the whole site, and visit the Permanent Exhibition and the Black Chamber to know more about Lisbon's rich and millennial history.

"Principe Real" is actually a garden built around a 20-meter diameter cypress, but it is more talked about now as a trendy shopping area, filled with concept stores and restaurants. On your walk there you'll find São Pedro de Alcântara's belvedere, likely the most beautiful viewpoint over the city.

If your idea of a day at the beach is to lay under the sun, you may prefer Cascais, Estoril, São Pedro do Estoril ou Carcavelos beaches, all along the south coastline and easily reachable by train. To get to Guincho take buses 405 or 415 departing from Cascais Villa shopping center, right beside Cascais train station.
