This is not really a bar as much as an awesome modern day apothecary shop where instead of medicine you get mixologist created (super expensive-but worth it) cocktails. The best part is it's location

Arts & Culture

Arlene's grocery was back in the 1960s a grocery store. Somebody turned it into one of the Lower East Side's most popular live music venues. This is a relic of the past. At one time the Laurie side featured multiple music venues. These places slowly disappeared with gentrification. But check out Arlene's. Great bar and music venue. most bands play there for free.

Amazing China Town

Vibrant Chinatown is ONLY a short 10-15 minute walk away! This is a densely populated neighborhood that draws foodies and tourists to its many Chinese and Southeast Asian restaurants for dumplings, pork buns, and hand-pulled noodles. The busy sidewalks are packed with souvenir stores, bubble tea shops, and markets selling everything from fresh and dried fish to herbs and spices. Locals hang out in leafy Columbus Park for Tai Chi, chess, and mahjong. Very few people know that China Town was originally called the Five Points neighborhood. At one time the most notorious in the barge slum in the history of planet earth. This was the setting for the movie the gangs of New York. Chinatown is definitely a must-see for anybody.
An American classic! The Brooklyn Bridge is a hybrid cable-stayed/suspension bridge in New York City, spanning the East River between the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. This bridge opened on May 24, 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge was the first fixed crossing of the East River. Best ways to experience it: Renta Citi bike for the day and ride across it, or take a walk. The sites are amazing and on the other side in Brooklyn, with tons of great things to see.

Neighborhoods

Little Italy is ONLY a short 8-12 minute walk!!! This cool neighborhood welcomes a heavy tourist crowd to its high concentration of souvenir shops and traditional Italian eateries and bakeries. Tenement buildings, once home to the immigrants who settled the area in the late 1800s, line the narrow streets. Mulberry Street, the main thoroughfare, turns into a pedestrian mall on summer weekends. The area celebrates its heritage each September at the busy San Gennaro festival. Get a coffee and cannoli at Ferrara's, and find a stoop to sit back and watch the world go by, like a real New Yorker!
