Local Neighbourhood and what's close around
Aylervarroo/Moyne Bay is a lovely pebbled beach about a 2/3 min drive from the house. You will see a sign for this bay on the N67 heading towards Kilrush Town. It is a ideal place for a swim close to the property and very safe. Best when tide is in for a swim. Also lovely the toddlers when the tide is out as then there is sand.
There is a high chance of seeing Dolphins here in the bay and a lot of the locals Curragh from the pier slip here from the house.
If you follow the road you will also end up at Cappa Pier, which is a local favourite for jumping off in high tide, Jimmys sweetshop, playground, and town.

In the local town, down by the Marina. Fun for Adults to young children. Pre booking is strongly advised. Activity takes over 1hr.

Not forgetting David O Kelly, an expert in plants.. especially roses. And myself doing crafts when I have time !! There is lots more at the market. This market also is in Kilkee every Sunday 9-2pm

The Flying Alpaca
Nice for Family and whoever is not used of seeing alpacas every day
Kilkee is situated on Moore Bay – a beautiful horse-shoe shaped bay. Kilkee is a popular tourist destination. The well-to-do were drawn to the town’s unique climate, natural amenities and coveted bathing areas.
The well-known and much-loved Kilkee Cliff Walk can be accessed from the car park overlooking the world famous Pollock Holes at the west end of the town.
Beautiful favourite for a day out on the beach.

Carrigaholt is located on the mouth of the River Shannon and it is part of the Loop Head Peninsula – home to Ireland’s only resident 120 bottlenose dolphins.
Carrigaholt is an old fishing port overlooked by a 15th century castle.
Such a tranquil location about 10min outside of Kilkee bay.
Traveling here on the West Coastal way route is worth it for the views.

A must see. it is a 40min drive from the house to the famous cliffs. (though kilkee cliff walk is as good 👍!)

For people with Mobility issues or not able for long distance walking Horse and cart tours are available, book through internet in advance only.
Also bring swim gear, has a lovely very safe bay there.

It is a must to take a trip out to the Aran Islands. I recommend the smallest Inisheer or Inismor for the more adventurous as the Red Bull Dive pool is there....though woud think you need to be a confident individual in the water.

A bit of a treck to get there, around 1.30hrs from house by car. Well worth it for young and old. Another good activity if the day is wet or dull.
Children love this experience.
