Our guided kayak tour of beautiful Shell Key Preserve (incl beach walk :) ) begins at the public launch area just north of the bridge to Fort De Soto Park. My team and I will meet everyone here, do introductions, hand out waterproof bags, and then get everyone prepped for kayaking (lifejackets are provided, but not required for guests over 16). No experience needed as we'll give everyone a little paddling overview/refresher! We use primarily tandem kayaks for ease and comfort. (Your booking time is the planned arrival time). After that we'll head out onto the water & into the Preserve! The Preserve is a beautiful shallow environment with plenty of wildlife & a very interesting ecosystem! We'll discuss both the ecosystem and history of the Preserve. From the shallow seagrass flats to the large mangrove islands to the pristine beaches of Shell Key itself we'll try and cover it all! Including traveling through some mangrove tunnels (with friendly tides, primarily March-October) We'll also look for and talk about some of our incredible wildlife in the Preserve including dolphins, manatees, & other various fish & bird life! From our kayaks we'll be able to see a few different St. Pete landmarks & we'll discuss their history as well as some recommendations for places to eat & things to do while you're here! A smiling face will greet you as soon as you arrive at our launch site. We will provide you with ice cold drinking water, a waterproof bag to protect your cellphone, keys, wallet, etc. We'll walk down to the kayak launch area and go over all safety precautions including proper use of your life jacket & provide a detailed paddle lesson. Once we are ready to paddle, we will embark on a two hour kayak adventure exploring beautiful Sarasota Bay and the world famous Lido Key mangrove tunnels. I'll tell you all about the interesting history of our beautiful bay as well as talk to you about the incredible flora and fauna we encounter! If we are lucky, we may even be visited be amazing dolphins and gentle manatees. Then, we will journey through Lido Key's spectacular mangrove tunnels while we learn of their importance to our coastal ecosystem. Once our tour is over, we will send you on your way with memories that will last a lifetime. Important note: I will message you immediately after you book to get your preference on single kayaks or tandems. If I get no response, we will default to all tandems if your group is even numbered, or all tandems and a single if its odd numbered. You will meet your guides at Ted Sperling Park, the launch site for the famous Lido Mangrove Tunnels. After a short explanation of the equipment and the paddle, we will launch and practice our skills in a beautiful, shallow bay. Karla and Aaron will be on hand to ensure that you feel comfortable. Their goal is safety and fun. Depending on weather conditions, we may paddle to the channel with a goal of paddling with manatees and dolphins. If we do come across them, we will keep our distance and watch them play and frolic. Occasionally, manatees will be curious and will swim up to us. It is such a special experience. Next up, we will head to the mangrove tunnels. We may take a short break at a private beach to stretch our legs before we head into the maze of mangrove tunnels. Your guides will help you navigate the tunnels, pointing out exotic wildlife as you pass. Everyone loves when finding giant hermit crabs and seastars along the way. After paddling though the tunnels and to the hidden lagoon, we will head back to the launch. Your hosts will text photos of your adventure for you to share with friends and family. One of our guides (Chris, Jenna, Raven, Charlie, Hannah, Grace, or Matt) will get you checked in right when you arrive to allow for the most possible time on the water! Once you're all checked in, we'll give some basic paddle instructions and information about the tour ahead. We'll get you loaded up into your tandem clear kayak and off we go! The paddle will last about 2 hours depending on the speed of our group and any wildlife we may see along the way. We will be sure to take plenty of pictures and give some awesome unique facts about the area on our several picturesque stopping points! There will even be a couple chances for you to get out and explore Florida's unique marine habitats! The first half of the paddle will be along side of the beautiful mangroves with our first stop being a mangrove tunnel (tide permitting) , the second half will be a paddle across the blue waters to Shell Key where we will take time to enjoy the pristine sandbars and beach, finally we will paddle along the wildlife sanctuary to catch a glimpse of some native coastal birds! Be ready for lots of great local nature and wildlife along the way!

We'll cruise out and see the local sights (dolphins & sea turtles) heading out towards Gulf of Mexico the perfect day adventure, outdoors, not to physical of a learning experience. An introduction coastal cruising of the St Petersburg - Tampa Bay waters get as involved as you want, have fun, be safe and enjoy a day cruising-sailing. Your choice of morning or afternoon sail, morning 9AM to Noon, afternoon sail 1-4PM Starting we'll walk around have a safety briefing, move on to parts of sailboat and basic sailing . Introduction to learn coastal cruising - Get as much hands on experience as you want. You'll be coached on coastal cruising, learn by performing experience: hoisting sails, tending lines and sheets - sailing drills, learning to tack into the wind - jib with the wind, no prior experience required,. When we're under way, you'll be performing setting and trimming both the main & jib sails, practicing tacking and jibing drills - switching working positions and learn basic's at different crew stations - tending lines, working the winches, setting sails including helm - steering the boat. Or just sit back and enjoy the experience. On the "Plan B" enjoy FL sun, great salt water views and memories and an introduction to what yacht cruising it is really like.
