Featuring private pool, Il Casale Salcim is located deep in the countryside near Roccascalegna. Guests benefit from balconies and terraces. The villa comes with 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, a flat-screen TV, a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a patio with pool views. All bedrooms are air conditioned and have en suite bath/shower rooms and 4 bedrooms benefit from walk-in wardrobes. All internal areas and the terraces have full WiFi access. Guests can swim in the outdoor swimming pool, go skiing in winter or relax in the garden. The pool is 10 x 5 metres, with the deepest part being 2.5 metres and the shallowest 1.5 metres, there are steps in the corner where an adult can sit in the water with a young child. The pool is closed between October 1st and April 30th. The villa's main living areas have polished travertine stone floors and the other rooms have porcelain tiles in an oak effect. All rooms benefit from underfloor heating. The villa was constructed mainly using the materials from the old farmhouse that was on the site, so all the stone walls are original stone. The nearest airport is Abruzzo Airport (Pescara), 60 kms from the villa. The airports of Naples and Rome are approximately 2.5 hours and 3 hours respectively by car from the house. The areas around the house are very rural and rugged with splendid mountain views and a short drive to the Adriatic or to the ski areas. The people are very friendly and helpful and there are many good bars and restaurants within a relatively short distance. The nearest village is Roccascalegna which ââConde Nast recently (February 2018) put at the top of their list of the 9 most beautiful hilltop towns in Italy. The house is located deep in the countryside at the end of a dead end road in the south central part of Chieti Province in the Abruzzo Region of Italy close to Lago di Bomba (or Lago di Sangro) which is about the 15th largest lake in Italy at around 10 sq km in size. The villa sits at 500 metres above sea level overlooking the Val di Sangro and is 30 minutes away from blue flag beaches and less than an hour away from superb skiing. Abruzzo is known as "the greenest region in Europe" as one third of its territory, the largest in Europe, is set aside as national parks and protected nature reserves: there are three national parks, one regional park, and 38 protected nature reserves and contains species such as the rare marsican brown bear, apennine wolf, Abruzzo chamoix, red deer, lynx, roe deer, buzzard, rock partridge, alpine and red-billed chough, peregrine falcon, sparrow hawk, European badger, Italian hare, pine marten, spectacled salamander, Golden Eagle, snow vole, red fox, porcupine, wild cat, wild boar, otter and Orsini's viper. More than 75% of all Europe's fauna and flora are represented in this area!
