Retired Royal Guard Central London Walk
I invite you to join me to see Royal palaces and other iconic royal sites, hear personal stories of my experiences with members of the Royal Family and even get to see a piece of Prince William's and Kate's wedding cake! We will start at Trafalgar Square and hear about its history and then move on to see the pomp and pageantry of the Changing of the King's Life Guard. We then walk along The Mall to St James' Palace and Clarence House where I will tell you tales of Princes William and Harry the night before William's wedding. Next is a short walk to Buckingham Palace where you will have more opportunities to take photos and hear stories of the Royal household. We then walk into picturesque St James' Park where there is a chance to pause (kiosk available for drinks) and look at gifts presented to me by members of the Royal family. On the way to Parliament Square I will tell you all about the Palace of Westminster (Houses of Parliament and Big Ben). The final part of the walk takes us along Whitehall, past Downing Street (home of the Prime Minister) and then to the spot where King Charles 1st was executed. We will finish back at Trafalgar Square
Other things to note
If on the 2pm walk we will see a shortened Guard change at 4pm.

Hidden Pubs of London
Join us for a 3hr historical stumble down the "street of shame". Starting in the shadow of the iconic St.Paul's cathedral, we explore the tiny backstreets and rambling courtyards the ancient City of London is famous for. We follow in the drunken footsteps of literary greats including Dickens, Shakespeare, Pepys & Johnson whilst pausing for a drink in at least 4 of the most historic pubs dating as far back as the 1500's. From discovering art nouveau gems to glamorous Victorian gin palaces we enjoy a variety of pub styles and breweries along the way. It's not a prescriptive tour, so you choose & pay for your drinks along the way. We're here to offer recommendations, and you can often "sip before you sup" with a few tasters on request from the bars along the way. This allows you to indulge as much or as little as you desire! Non-drinkers can soak up the history, and wine & gin-lovers are also well catered for. We usually finish up on the edge of Covent Garden perfect for theatre-land, restaurants and of course more pubs including one that claims to be the most haunted in London!
Other things to note
Guests are recommended to be over 18 years of age to enjoy the walk at its best. Anyone lucky enough to look under 25 years of age should bring photo ID.
N.B. We have a small number of hosts running these walks so you might be meeting up with Chris, Mark, Wil or others

Sightseeing tour of London - in clear, slow English
Join me, a passionate local Londoner, on a tour around some of London's most famous sites. Using my many years of experience as an English language teacher, I will speak slowly and clearly on the tour, in a way that non-native English speakers will understand.
We will visit Green Park, Buckingham Palace, The Mall, St James' Palace, Trafalgar Square, Downing Street, Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and much more.
You will learn about: what British people really think about the Queen; Winston Churchill's good, bad and funny sides; what Londoners like and don't like about their city; where to visit next on your London adventure; and much more!
A Fascinating Tour of the British Museum
We'll take a relaxed walking tour through a million years of human history, in one of the most renowned museums in the world (free entrance), seeing beautiful and important objects and learning much about their history.
We'll start by looking at some of the earliest human artefacts, connecting us today with our ancient past, from different parts of the world. Then we move to the cradle of civilisation in the Middle East and Egypt, the beginning of money, and writing, exploring some incredible objects and treasures and their fascinating history.
We'll then discover the blossomings of civilisations in ancient China and ancient Greece, and how politics, philosophy and science started to develop, before leading into the Roman Empire and the enormous influence that had on the Western world.
Then we'll explore the beginnings of modern society over the last 1000 years in different places around the world, seeing beautiful and fascinating objects at every turn.
Some of the highlights of the tour are: the Rosetta Stone, the Egyptian mummy rooms, the Parthenon marbles, Roman treasures, ancient Mesopotamia, and many more.
Bible Study Tour in the British Museum
Join me in the British Museum for a Bible study tour in which the Bible comes alive as we connect museum artifacts to Bible verses.
We’ll wind our way through the various galleries and see the world of Egypt as Joseph and Moses experienced it, Assyria as Jonah encountered it, Babylon as Daniel saw it and Persia as Esther and Nehemiah lived it. We’ll explore the Roman Empire in which Jesus lived and the Greek culture that the Apostle Paul interacted with.
Due to the museum layout, we'll first walk through the Assyrian, Egyptian and Greek galleries on the ground floor.
Each artifact we examine dates from the time period of a significant Biblical character.
We take a break and then go upstairs to see the Egyptian, Mesopotamian, Babylonian, Persian, Greek and Roman galleries as time allows and your preference dictates.
Not only will you come face to face with ancient artifacts that are thousands of years old but you’ll understand your Bible like never before. You’ll have a much better grasp of the history of ancient Israel as well as the cultural forces that affected the birth and growth of Christianity.
There are no restrictions on photos so make sure you have plenty of phone memory.
Whether you've just started reading the Bible or have more formal training, you’ll come away with an extra dimension to your knowledge of the Bible and your faith.
Hebrew Bible tours welcome.
