A perfect location for viewing local wildlife or visiting some of Orkney's world-famous Neolithic archaeological sites such as the"Tomb of the Eagles", or wartime sites such as Hoxa Head gun emplacements or the Italian Chapel. Just a 15 minute drive to Kirkwall, across the famous Churchill Barriers with their historic shipwrecks.
Old School House makes a good base for your holiday in Orkney, or as a stop for two or three nights. The main bedroom has a double bed; a travel cot or supplementary bed can be made available. My other listing is for a single bedroom, which can be booked separately. Access to Flotta is via Orkney Ferries ro-ro service Monday-Saturday. Grutha Farmhouse is a traditionally built stone house, built in the 1850's. The self catering unit is a self contained house with a joining door to our family home. This will be locked at all times. We aim to offer a home from home stay on our working farm. Say hi to our cattle, hens and goats! Convenient 10 min walk to bus stop and 5 minute drive to local amenities, including the Pentalina Ferry, shops and playparks.
