Thornbank Farm is bursting with history and tranquility. Rev. James Ross established The West River Seminary and Theological Hall here at this very site. Ross would later become President at Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS. The Farm is located on the east side of the West River, between the Durham and Lochbroom Bridges. It is nestled out on a peninsula along the West River. Fields, eagles, and giant old growth Maple trees compliment the overwhelming peacefulness of the West River.
In Balmoral Mills, just a few km from Tatamagouche and the beautiful Northumberland Strait in northern Nova Scotia, and up the road from the historic Balmoral Mill, is a delightful, cozy, quiet, self-contained cottage.
