Cycling-Adventurous Islands of Mumbai
I'll show you the hidden, quaint and scenic side of Mumbai on a mountain bike, a place even most residents of this busy city are completely unaware of. We'll also pass by one of the world's largest meditation centers known as the Global Vipassana Pagoda. We begin our adventure with a short boat ride to a disconnected portion of the city that I like to call the adventurous islands of Mumbai. Our ride starts on a narrow road enveloped by widespread lush mangroves that give out the cleanest air you'll find in the city. (Mark my words) Soon, we reach the coast and from riding on tarmac, we transition to off-road. This is where things begin to get adventurous. We will be mountain biking to a secret hill-top spot from where the island can truly be appreciated. We then ride downhill to my favorite beach-side restaurant and have a scrumptious breakfast, sipping chai (Indian tea)and enjoying conversation. After a hearty breakfast, we ride to The Global Vipassana Pagoda which is a meditation dome hall that has a capacity to seat around 8,000 meditators. Later we end our day not without another quick boat ride to the bustling side of the city. Other things to note We will be covering a distance of 15 Kms from start to end. In-case you are a proper regular cyclist and are interested in a fast paced longer version of this ride (30 kms), let me know and I will take care of that.
The Pinnacle Fort Hike
Join me on a hike to Mumbai's most exciting mountain top. Escape the chaos of the city & find yourself in the middle of the forest that envelopes it. Breathe fresh air, listen to the sound of birds & definitely no honking. Meet with tribals that live within the mountain, and eat a traditionally meal prepared by them. Get a healthy dose of Indian adrenaline when we climb large rock-cut steps at the summit. These stairs are a centuries old & used by multiple empires. At the top, we will take in the glorious scenery that the pinnacle & the forest has to offer. I'll show & tell you about the flora & wildlife in the area. When we arrive at the tribal village, we will eat some of their very simple & homely food - wood-fire cooked breakfast & lunch. I'll ensure we have a few good cups of chai too. The food prepared by the tribals will most likely be your most authentic Indian food experience. I say this because the roots of Indian food lie with it's tribals - Unadulterated. Post lunch, we will head down and back to the city just the way we arrived. Other things to note This is a 2.5 hr hike going up while coming down is shorter. The hike can be considered as easy to moderate grade.
The Prettiest Hiking Trail in all of Maharashtra
I will take you out to the prettiest & most panoramic spot in all of Maharashtra, a place on the immediate outskirt of Mumbai. The trek begins with an easy-going stroll along the banks of a pristine lake before you cross freshwater streams and rustic villages. The unending scenery of the green meadows on this trek is a surreal visual treat and much more than we can explain. The cool monsoon winds in the midst of the clouds and rain make this trek an experience to remember forever! The hike route leads to a plateau that overlooks various waterfalls from neighbouring mountains. Why I love hosting people on this hike apart from it being the prettiest naturescape near Mumbai is that I can tailor the hike to every guest's physical ability. For guests that would like to keep it easy-paced, I usually lead the hike for 3 hours (1.5 hours one way) over mostly flat & gradually inclined terrain up to a gorgeous vantage point and then turn back. For individuals that are really up for a longer hike, I extend this hike to 5-6 hrs of hiking. We travel by a local train to the start of the trail. The journey is 2 hours long by train.
Photo Shoot & Walk in Mumbai
Not just a photo shoot, the session would be more of a photo walk where I can tell you a little bit about the city and my journey here. I will capture your best moments against Mumbai's vibrant backdrop, whether it's the serene Versova Beach, the bustling Dhobhi Ghat, the iconic Bandra-Worli Sea Link, or the picturesque Marine Drive. You are more than welcome to bring your own camera if you are a photography enthusiast and I would love to discuss and share photography tips and ideas with you during or after the session. + If you can't find an available date on my calendar, or an available session is full, please let me know, and I will adjust the time and open a new slot for you. + The group size is limited to 3 people to keep the experience personal. Please contact me if you are a group of more than 3 people so I can open additional spots. +You will receive 20-30 high-resolution digital photos within a week. + Pick & Drop service is available at additional charge. Hop with me on a ferry to Elephanta Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where we will witness the magnificent shrine of Lord Shiva, the Hindu God, that has been carved out of a hill. We shall spend the most time in the main cave which is the grandest of all the caves and contains numerous carvings depicting various aspects of Lord Shiva.
