Alpaca Trekking Through A Magical Forest
Alpacas take to trekking quite easily. They walk in a line, one behind the other on a head collar and lead rope. Our guided treks start at the alpacas' barn and ascend into the forest. Each trek lasts about 1.5 hours. The walk itself is at a very leisurely pace, and is not at all strenuous.
PLEASE NOTE: MINIMUM AGE 12 YEARS, no baby carriers
(and all guests must speak English).
When you arrive on site, the alpacas will be grazing, and we will call them in using their yellow food bucket! Simon and I will introduce you to the alpacas whist getting them ready with head collars and leads. We will have a brief health & safety chat, as well as give you some idea of what to expect and some pointers so you can interact with your alpaca. We will also introduce you to all of their individual quirks and personalities.
Alpacas are not able to carry packs or people, so they will accompany us as we walk the forest trail. We try not to let them stop to nibble grass for long periods. Half-way around the walk, we release the alpacas in an enclosed area, so we can feed them treats, and you can get very close and intimate with them. They will love you when we give you the apples and carrots to feed them. There will be plenty of photo opportunities throughout your visit.
When we return to the farm, we will finish with a fibre and spinning demonstration.
Fairy Pig Walk
Arrive at Burren Nature Sanctuary
Meet and feed the farm animals including Frisky the goat and her friends Hannah, Mocha and Chino, Frank the Llama and Dolly the alpaca
Continue to Emilia's paddock and meet Emilia the Juliana pig (or Flora her understudy!) who lives next door to Dyson the rescued not-so-micro pig!
Emilia will run out of her paddock to get her harness on and with help from Mary or Helen, you will learn how to lead Emilia and use the pig paddle to turn and direct her!
Laugh a lot!
Set off down the nature walk and learn a little about the famine village (Emilia is not a great fan of history...)
Lead Emilia around the fairy woodland and visit the fairy houses. Make a wish in the Fairy wishing well.
Take photos with Emila and share on social media or save as a Christmas card image!
Continue your walk unguided around the mile-long nature walk. Great for groups.
Bring a picnic to enjoy in one of our shelters
Subject to cancellation in very bad weather- Emilia does not like heavy rain!
Shepherds Farm Walk- Dingle Peninsula
We will walk around the farm for about 2 hours. This is a hill farm so involves a bit of hill walking. We will see our sheep and feed them if winter time (they live solely on grass in the summer time), You will most likely see our Chickens if they are not busy doing other chicken stuff. You will also see some wonderful scenery on the walk. We will visit the Peat Bog where we used to cut turf for the fire and hear about the diversity of plants that grow on the bog. You will hear the larks serenading us on our walk. A rare enough experience in these days. We have a number of Archaeological sites on the farm which we also visit. We will see our Fairy Fort and our Standing stone. If you like this experience but the scheduled time and date does not suit, please message me and we might be able to schedule a time that does.
Other things to note
Walk is on a hill sheep farm so we don't allow dogs.
The walk is on average mountain land sometimes wet, good walking boots/shoes and raingear needed. Be prepared to walk up to 2 hours. Enjoy !

Cliffs of Moher Hike from Doolin
The Cliffs Of Moher is often referred to as the 8th wonder of the world. This guided tour will take you on an 8km (5 mile) adventure from the small fishing village of Doolin, along a breathtaking route to the top of the Cliffs Of Moher. The experience is brought to life with fascinating stories passed down from generations.
Oh, and you will see the BEST views of the Cliffs of Moher! Views that are not seen by 97% of the people who visit the Cliffs of Moher each year. Bring your camera!
WHERE DOES THE EXPERIENCE START?
The experience begins at the Fiddle + Bow Hotel in Doolin where you will meet the guide. The guide will explain the itinerary and answer any questions. The tour is less about facts and figures and more about stories. The guide always encourages stories from visitors too!
WHERE DOES THE EXPERIENCE END?
The tour will end at the visitor center at the top of the Cliffs where guests are free to go inside to relax.
By the end of this experience, guests will have explored the Cliffs of Moher in a way most don't get to see it. They will be left with a strong sense of connection with Clare and the Cliffs of Moher.
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation back to Doolin will be organized by your guide! Most people opt for the taxi but you can walk or get the public bus too!
IS THE HIKE DIFFICULT?
We suggest a moderate level of fitness!
Aran Island Bike Tour with Tea/Scones - Day Trip from Doolin
Join me and my team of guides on one of the most beautiful and stress-free day trips to Inisheer, the smallest of the Aran Islands!
Meeting at Doolin Pier, we board a modern ferry for our 20-minute journey to Inisheer. En route, we often see the dolphins that love to swim beside the ferry.
The island is like a time machine. As soon as you step foot on Inisheer, you will hear Irish (or Gaelic) being spoken everywhere. You will experience Irish traditions that have been lost on the mainland.
We will bike our way around the breathtaking Island visiting sunken churches, rusted shipwrecks, and castles.
After our bike tour, we will visit a local islander’s cafe, for some tea/coffee and fresh scones (an Irish sweet bread served with jam and cream). Una & John, the owners are fantastic storytellers who will share stories along with some island secrets!
Afterward, you will have some free time. Some like to use their free time on the sandy beach, in the pub, or at the playground (if you have kids, they will love this playground - lots to do). If you like, you could simply bike around the island some more!
Flaggy Shore Oyster Experience
The Flaggy Shore Oyster Experience is a fun, interactive, educational and tasty 90-minute journey into the world of oysters in the heart of the Burren.
You will learn about the area’s rich history of oyster bays, the life cycle of an oyster, sea weeds and sea creatures of the Flaggy Shore, which are celebrated in poem and song. Then we start shucking.
Our experienced guide will introduce you to the art of oyster shucking before it’s time to enjoy our famous oysters.
Enjoy all you can eat oysters paired with a glass of our favorite organic white wine chosen to match with our delicious Flaggy Shore Oysters!
Guided walk Carrauntoohil
Carrauntoohil is Ireland's highest mountain, with 1,038 metres of height (3,405 feet). It's a strenuous walk ideal for a person with a good fitness level, hill walking experience & hiking boots.
ITINERARY:
Distance of 13 km.
Total ascent 950 metres.
Duration 6+ hours.
I will meet with my hiking group at 10:00 at Lisleibane - Carrauntoohil Trail Head & Car Park. Carrauntoohil Coffee Hut at the car park (Summer) for coffee.
After checking gear and supplies we will hit the trail with an easy pace. On our way, perhaps we meet sheep, we watch the birds soar, we smell the gorse flower (May) as we walk into Hag’s Glen for one hour before our first rest at the base of the Hag’s Tooth.
We then prepare for the summit and the actual climb, with short scrambles and steep climb we will head via O’Shea's Gully. Setting off, as we rise higher and higher we are greeted with better and better views, we experience more pleasure than pain.
When we finally arrive at the summit we are awestruck by the views, the best in Ireland in a clear day. We can see the entire County of Kerry, the Black Valley, Dingle Peninsula, West Cork, even the Atlantic Ocean. Priceless!!
With our well deserved rest, refreshed and elated it's time to descend taking our time, and being extra careful we work our way down via Devil’s Ladder, or Zig-Zag path; or Heaven's Gate depending on weather conditions and safety.
