Spend a relaxing couple of hours sailing on the Nile on our newly outfitted and pristine felucca, the traditional sailing boat that has been used on these waters for thousands of years. Captain Mahmoud will pick you at the appointed place on the corniche and take you sailing to see different parts of the Nile. On the way we will see many sites along the river, depending on the wind and currents. These could include the nilometer (a structure for measuring the water in ancient Egypt), the Botanical garden, the Aga Khan monument, noble tombs, the St. Simeon monastery, and hieroglyphic carvings that can not be seen from any other place. Along the way, you can watch camels traveling on the sand dunes, see myriads of birds, pass by Nubian villages, and watch everyday life play out on the river. Enjoy the gentle movement of the wind and water and a chance to slow down and reflect on what life might have been thousands of years ago, back when traveling the river meant giving in to the whims of nature. If weather permits, you might stop on a beach to enjoy a light refreshment of mint tea and traditional sweets with a chance to maybe dip your feet on the Nile!
