Sail Magnificent Lake Lucerne
Release the shorelines, hoist the sail, steer the boat, navigate and maneuver - or simply sit back and admire the majestic panorama of Alpine peaks. How active or passive you want to be, is up to you, and nobody is judging you. We're sailing on the magnificent Lake Lucerne - it doesn't get much better than that. Experienced sailors and absolute first-timers are equally welcome. And I'm equally happy to operate the boat myself, or guide you gently so you can develop and safely practice your sea-skills. Our starting point is Marina Lützelau on the North shore of the lake. After a short safety briefing, we release the shorelines and set sail across the lake to the foot of the dramatic Bürgenstock, towering 700m (2300ft) above us. Care for a dip in the cool water? This could be our refreshing swimming stop. Hungry? we will savour fresh specialities from a local cheese factory and neighbouring farms. We continue towards Weggis, a serene, 900-year-old village on the slopes of Mount Rigi. Sailing gives us unique views of the village, often termed the 'Riviera' of central Switzerland. Our trip ends back where we started, at the Marina Lützelau. For your peace of mind: I've never seen anyone feeling sea-sick on the lake, not even those who suffer at sea. The cockpit is safe: accidentally falling overboard is impossible. Cancellation due to rain includes a full refund. Other things to note Boat etiquette: if you're not having fun, you're not doing it right. Sailing in the rain is no fun, and unsafe, so in case of unfavourable forecast 24h in advance I will cancel with a full refund.

Day in Wengen - Hike & Raclette cheese
Wengen is a lovely car-free mountain town on 1274m altitude located on big cliff between Lauterbrunnen and Männlichen so views are just stunning! The route I have chosen will take us to the charming Innerwengen. This is where the first residents of Wengen settled, now a small habitat of a few farms, about 30 minutes from the center, will show us the true beauty of the Swiss countryside full of cheeses from local farmers and cows. Along the way, we will see beautiful views of the famous Jungfrau, Silberhorn, Mürren (city of James Bond movie production) and the Lauterbrunnen valley literally all the time. Did you know that since 1930 the longest and most difficult Ski Slalom in Europe - the International Ski World Cup "Lauberhorn race" is taking place exactly in Innerwengen every year? We will have the opportunity to see with our own eyes how steep slopes skiers from all over the world face every year. After this eventful 2.5-hour walk, we will go to my apartment with equally beautiful views to try one of the most traditional Swiss dishes - Raclette cheese. Raclette cheese is a very rare avaible dish in restaurants, but much loved in Swiss homes. Together we will prepare all the necessary ingredients and, using a special raclette machine, we will start melting the cheese. During the meal, I will share with you the story of his legend and tell you about the Swiss lifestyle.

Wir stellen frische "Chnöpfli" her.

Finally, we will drive to a local "boulangerie" for a typical traditional light lunch: "gâteau de Vully salé et sucré" (savoury and sweet versions of a clotted cream cake) that is absolutely delicious. Cheers!

Off the beaten track in Interlaken
We will start off by taking the train to the village of Wilderswil. If you are not familiar with the region, please let me know and I will help you plan your route. We will follow the hiking trail along the Saxetenbach river through the Sytiwald forest. This trail is barely frequented by the locals or tourists, so you will get to immerse yourself completely in the mystical alpine forest domain. Once through the forest, we will arrive in the secluded Saxettal valley with Saxeten village at the center of it. This village is a breath of fresh air from the tourist Meccas of Interlaken and Lauterbrunnen. If you want to properly visit the village or buy local freshly made cheese, please count a detour of 1h - 1h30. After Saxeten we will continue hiking up through the forest to Abendberg - an abandoned hotel. From there we will enjoy one of the best views of Lake Brienz before going back down to Wilderswil. This is a mountain hiking trail, so good shoes are absolutely necessary. This is a round-hike and it will end at the same point where we started. I will plan the hike in accordance with local weather forecast and adjust the itinerary if necessary. If you are feeling confident, we may also take a slightly longer trail. The length of this hike is 19.46 km (12.09 miles) with a total ascent of 1’001 m (3’284 feet).
