Creative Mindful walk Sensory experience, Plateau, Mtl
Join me as I guide you on a creative mindful walk through the plateau of Montreal. Like a flaneur ( wanderer), we will stroll the streets, and alleyways, into a nearby park. Montreal is oozing with creativity & culture, making it a perfect backdrop to explore its many facets and vibes. We will take the time to slow down and TUNE IN to the moment, to observe and explore what each neighborhood has to offer. I will share some of my tips & tricks for flaneuring, my creative techniques for observing and documenting life and teach you a few mindful practices that will help you engage deeper into the present. This experience will focus on engaging your senses. From savoring the smells and tastes of local cuisine. Listen keenly to all the sounds that float in and out, from music being played to dinners being made. Opening your eyes wide to SEE all the textures, colors, and intricate designs and details that make up this urban skin. There will be pauses, to take note of the moments through creative mediums, such as photography, drawing, and writing. To inspire you to CREATE and EXPRESS your vision and voice. I will share a story or two, about what makes each neighborhood unique. At the end of the walk, we will have a drink/ snacks at a cafe, or a park to share our experience. I will offer my top picks for things to SEE, TASTE, SMELL, FEEL, and LISTEN to in MTL.
Interactive Old Montreal Walk with Creative Activities
This is not a regular tour of Old Montreal. If you are looking for a normal, historical tour, this experience is not for you. This is an interactive experience. We will walk through Old Montreal and stop at various pitstops - some are landmarks, some are relaxing spots with interesting scenery and some are spots where creatives gather. At each spot, we do a different activity to spark our imagination and creativity, letting the space or landmark inspire us. We'll do some writing, sketching, creative games, storytelling, improv and movement and dance. You'll get a chance to connect with your hosts, other participants and even take pictures or videos for Instagram or social media! In the middle, we'll have a break where you can grab a snack or a drink while we all get to know each other.
City of Saints and Sinners, Part Two - Old Montreal/The Main
My tour of Montreal history goes beyond the standard fare. This is a city of saints and sinners; of harmony and conflict. On this tour we will walk through the history of a city defined by its cultural diversity and clashing narratives. From the Haudenosaunee village of Hochelaga to the protests of 2021, all are covered! Our journey takes us from Square Victoria through Old Montreal. Exploring the history of this oldest of North American cities (and grabbing some ice cream). Afterwards we will take dinner in Chinatown on we will walk to Old Montreal. Finally, we will explore the city's famed Redlight District. The stops will include all manner of historically significant locations. These will largely based around the contentious social and political history for which Montreal is famous. However, we will not neglect the fascinating life stories of so many great Montrealers. From Leonard Cohen to Marie-Joseph Angélique, all are given their due place in the rich tapestry of this city. I am here to provide personal recommendations for where to go and what to see for the duration of your trip. NOTES *Personalized tours available (for sections) *Health codes followed: masks indoors are mandatory, outdoor distancing observed. *Please come with vaccine passports if you wish to dine-in. Hope to see you all soon!

Stargazing near Montreal
We'll be heading outside Montreal for a couple of hours. During the trip, I will explain the process and talk about what we will see on that night in terms of astronomy events/objects. Once we arrive at our destination, we'll be setting up our cameras (You don't need to have a camera to participate) as our eyes adapt to the darkness. If you bring your own camera, I will help you to use it and get amazing night shots. I will take your astro-portraits if you wish to, and I love taking group photos, so we'll be standing still for some seconds in order to capture the group with the sky and the landscape around us. I will provide you a printed postcard from one of the shots we took during our trip. Finally, once done, we will be heading back to Montreal, and during the drive, I will explain more on how to process your photos to get a better end result. Other things to note This activity is in the outdoor so be sure to dress up well for it. Also, be ready to be disconnected a bit as some locations have bad network coverage. We'll do a quick toilet stop on our way.
A Cultural & Dynamic Wander Underground
Get ready to walk "underground" in the great city of Montreal. Basically one has to be fit to undertake this activity although we've done extensive research to include only the routing that encompasses the main attractions & hence to provide a chance basically to all; after all, we do not want you to walk 33 km underground ! And we know that it will be hard to figure out on your own the "hidden" underground access points & attractions. The routing will be of interest to all : Barbie Expo (haute-couture, fashionable clothing) that will be admired by all ages specially it is free :) , high in-house fountains, a huge "colorimeter", a great vista to take a relief from the underground (we’ll do in great weather), a replica of St. Peter Basilica, a surprise that hopefully will be achievable depending on availability & time of booking the tour, big bas -reliefs & murals, a time to skate if so , a chance to see something of major importance from Berlin ! great spots for taking amazing pictures like near the statue of the wife of Poseidon, a chance, I mean many chances ! to shop & so much more...such an amazing cultural and fitness experience in an underground clean environment that you will never forget ! As tour requires walking, it’s recommended to book a private tour if you have children or old aged individuals who can't cope with pace of others; communicate with host if so.
Taste of Chinatown with a Food Writer
Chinese cuisine is very rich and diverse. It cannot be treated as one entire cuisine as ingredients and styles of cooking vary depending on the geography, climate, and religion. We will journey through Chinatown and taste these regional delicacies together. By the end of the experience, you will be familiar with the flavour characteristic from various parts of China. We will start in the heart of Chinatown and make our way through four food stops all within a block from each other. Each stop represents a specific province in China. [Optional] If interested, we will also walk through the aisles of the largest Asian supermarket in Chinatown, and have you familiarize with commonly used ingredients in Chinese cooking. If you're into photography, I'll be offering you tips on taking Instagram-worthy food pictures. Dress appropriately for the weather. Wear comfortable footwear. Bring your phone or camera to take pictures. Come hungry!
