For us, the most beautiful is the outdoors, but there will be free time to visit the interior of the palace as well. Around lunchtime, we will stop at SINTRA HISTORICAL CENTRE, close to the MEDIEVAL NATIONAL ROYAL PALACE. We'll also visit the mystical QUINTA DA REGALEIRA, a scenographic park, that invites you for a symbolic initiation journey. Hi everyone!! The idea of this experience is to provide the best possible full day in our hometown. Knowing Sintra like the back of our hands and all the magic it has to offer, we came up with what we believe to be the most amazing and complete way of experiencing its wonders in one full day! - Start the day in Lisbon in front of Dona Maria II Theater - Our first stop will be at the historic center of Sintra to discover its beautiful labyrinth like streets. We will talk about what makes Sintra so special while discovering its secrets and taste its unique pastry. - We will then discover the Palace of Quinta da Regaleira and get lost in its 4 hectares of mysticism and romantic arquitecture and gardens. - From here we will leave the tourists behind and go through the very picturesque and hidden towns of Colares, Penedo, Almoçageme etc. to reach the open atlantic coastline. - On the coastline we will go for a waterfront lunch before exploring its brethtaking cliff views and Cabo da Roca - The end of the World! -We will then have the best postcard like views of the Pena Palace and finish the tour with a visit to this unique romantic Palace. :) Other things to note Pick up and drop off in front of Dona Maria II Theater (15 walk from most areas on the city) Google location: https://g.page/TNDMII?share Meals and Monuments fees are not included.

What we’ll do You will create two of your own highly decorative and colorful Lisbon mosaic sardines, 19 x 4 cm. Sardines are the unofficial mascot of Lisbon...you'll see them everywhere! It is only fitting we use tile; the Portuguese have a love affair with tile, "azulejos". First, you decide on your design. Then, you will learn how to cut tiles, how to lay them for the greatest effect, and how to fix and grout. Materials used will be antique Portuguese and contemporary tiles, mirror or broken dishes. At the end of the workshop, your handmade souvenirs are ready to go home with you. Why make two? Many students create one for themselves, to remember the beauty and magic of Lisbon, and the other for a loved one back home: a priceless piece of art that could not be bought in any store! I will give you ideas and suggstions where to source tools and materials in your own country so that this can be a new hobby for life! If you are like many, you may easily become "hooked" for good. Let's hope so... Other things to note Wear comfortable clothing which you don't mind getting a little messy. My studio is one place in town where you are encouraged to break things, make a mess and get your hands dirty!

Once upon a time there was a mountain full of wildlife and mysteries where ancient cultures gathered to practice pagan rituals, hunt, and protect their territory. This mountain was sacred and a respite place for people seeking peace in monasteries and pilgrimage and it still remains a sacred place for the people who grew up around it. Sintra changed a lot over time and became a very touristic place where its true essence is often forgotten. As locals, we were privileged to have lived in a moment in history where this mountain was our own “backyard”. A place where we could still find those rituals taking place, explore abandoned monasteries, palaces and sleep in the woods. We grew up to be the same curious and passionate kids we once were about our land. This is our heritage, this is our home and this is the core of the experience we want to share with you. First of all I have to say that Lisbon is my favorite city! Sun, nice people and good wine. About the wine, I always have a good bottle of Portuguese wine in my bag to share with you while we are walking or having breathtaking views from Lisbon’s hills. We start our adventure with the maze of Alfama, beautiful views, going through some remarkable spots as Lisbon’s Cathedral ( where I will tell you how to make a wish), Roman ruins , not touristic Miradouros in a company with a legend of ravens and many others. Then we go up to my favorite viewpoint where you can have rest and a glass of wine or two or more. The second part of our adventure is completely different. You will discover unique street art area, an old authentic district that only few people know with it’s fado history, hidden Palace in the middle of the city, creepy church and Santa Justa Elevator( I know how to get there without paying) , Gothic Church through my secret street leading up. I always try to make the most eco-friendly possible and use the sails, if you want you can help with the sailing activities or just relax. As the day ends you can enjoy a beautiful sunset.
