The Maynard Log Cabin was erected by a homesteader after the civil war. We have moved and restored it and made it available for rent. It is off the grid, but it has a complete functioning kitchen, wood stove and sitting room downstairs. There are two antique beds with new mattresses upstairs. There is no electricity but the cabin is furnished with kerosene lanterns. The bathroom facilities consist of wash basins and outhouse. The cabin is surrounded by 40 acres of woods and meadows.

Come relax at this lovely retreat on Mound Lake! You can easily spend all day in the outdoors enjoying the lake, hiking, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding or lounging on one of the decks. Enjoy the outdoors well into the evening at the outdoor fire pit or inside the large lower screened porch. Dock, kayaks & paddle board will be available from May through September. **A 2019 Bennington Pontoon is available to rent during your stay. Please inquire separately.

Our cabin is nestled in a wooded area & is very private. 15 minutes from 3 different towns with Wadena being the biggest. There's a queen bed on the main floor bedroom and a queen bed in the loft bedroom. WIFI/ cable television are available. Can sleep with the windows open or use the air conditioning. Outdoor pets are welcome, no pets inside please. You will have a view of the pond & we see deer on a daily basis. We will supply bedding, bath towels, cooking utensils, plates, cups & silverware.
