Tucked away in the village of Jawana (which means the village beneath the cliff), about 20 min drive through a farm road from the main road near Punakha Dzong is a Bhutanese treasure called Aum Wangmo Homestay. The 5-acre farm has been in Aum Wangmo’s family for about 200 years, since her great-great-grandfather’s time. Well maintained, the farmhouse has been repaired, extended and renovated to house two modern toilets/bathrooms and five rooms to accommodate 10 tourists comfortably.
Thuji homestay is located in Laptsakha village under Punakha District in Western Bhutan. The village is about 12 kilometers from the Khuruthang town (Punakha District town) towards Talo Monastry. The homestay is managed by the family and guests can experience rural life styles including food, farming, traditional sports, etc. The homestay is equipped with modern amenities like flush toilets, geysers, etc.
