Multnomah Zen, a four waterfall scenic hiking experience
Multnomah Falls and other waterfalls and vistas of the Columbia Gorge are astonishing icons of geology, the sort that have inspired mythology and lore of warriors, gods and passions. We will drive out in our vans to meet the tallest waterfall in the state, and then drive to a few of the shorter but even more stunning ones, too; falls which could only be the daughters and sons of legend. In this half-day experience, we will explore wonders with some short hikes (totaling less than 2.5 miles/4 km) and visits to overlooks and vistas that will have you gasping in awe. While Multnomah Falls and its iconic Benson Bridge are together the most-visited tourist attraction in the Portland area, they are only a part of our experience. We will meet at our shop in inner SE Portland, where we'll ride in our comfortable Sprinter and Transit vans to the nearby gorge. Depending on weather conditions, we will visit a few small hidden waterfalls and spectacular plunge-style falls whose columnar basalt has us learning words for "amazing" in other languages. We'll also tell you stories, geology, botany and oft-repeated tales of pioneers and road-builders, but also the old stories we've learned, of gods and wild spirits and about the oldest North American civilization, forever altered by “manifest destiny." Please note we book directly as well as through AirBNB, and your group may be up to 10.

African American Walking Tour of Lower Manhattan
This unique three-part, 3 hours, walking tour will begin where Manhattan began - at the National Museum of the American Indian. Each part of the tour will last approximately 1 hour. This first leg of the tour will start in Lower Manhattan. Specifically, Bowling Green, where the first enslaved Africans started building the infrastructure of the city, and end at Wall St where the enslaved Africans were brought and sold. The second leg of the tour will start in the Financial District. We will walk up Wall St to Federal Hall - a site next to a famous free African who owned and operated a famous Oyster House in 1825. The last leg will start around the Brooklyn Bridge, including the African Burial Ground National Monument plaza. This tour is great for groups, team-building, field trips, and it's especially beneficial for school-age children. Depending on the mood and convenience of the group we can stop for snacks, at any time. Each location is based on a specific chapter in my book. There will be several restroom breaks. Please note - Finding parking is extremely difficult in Lower Manhattan. Indoor garages will cost between $35-40. I advise using public transportation or car service.
Honey Bee Therapy
Observe the motto, “All the bees work together for the health of the planet” and join me in a sacred realm where you’ll transcend the facts about bees and discover how to connect with the complexity of nature. Safety first: We will go over rules of engagement and safely learn to co-exist with these fuzzy pollinators by respectfully entering their hive in order to observe the inner workings of the colony. We will move slowly and do a brief breathing exercise to quiet our minds. You’ll learn about their life cycle, different roles in the hive, their fascinating social structure and ways of communicating through dance, sound and pheromones. You may even meet the Queen and feed the bees honey. Other things to note Please bring your camera and extra water on hot days. Please wear light color clothing, loose thick long pants, closed-toe shoes and long socks. Do not wear heavy perfumes or shampoos. Text me upon arrival.
Run with the Pack
Tap into your wild side as you spend time with wolfdogs and learn the powerful lessons they have to teach in this intimate group experience! Beginning with a visit to our wolfdog compound, you'll meet the 30-plus rescues, hear their backstories, and meet some of the pack to interact one-on-one. You might even get a kiss (or two or three)! You’ll also get to walk alongside them during a light hike through the Angeles National Forest, where you’ll become one of the pack and further solidify your bond with the animals. NOTE: Please wear closed-toe boots or shoes, long pants, and weather-appropriate layers. Do not wear fur or dangling jewelry. If you have a cast or physical limitation, please notify us in advance.
Experience Glass Project
While visiting the artist's studio, you learn the process of blowing glass, and glass blowing techniques including taking a gather, marvering, blow'n-cap, and shaping glass. The workshop is very hands-on, focused on the process instead of the final product. With experienced glass artists, you make 2 to 3 small objects such as a paperweight, ornament/float, and/or drinking glass, to take home. Glassblowing is a team work. We strongly recommend to experience this with another person. If you are solo, you may still book a spot. However, the single booker should expect to finish earlier. Best to wear a cotton top and cotton pants. Open-toed shoes are not allowed. Please bring a pair of sunglasses and a face mask with you. Be prepared to be hot and sweaty, and to have fun! BYOB if you like. We can be flexible. Feel free to reach out to us to schedule a specific date and time or a private group if you don't see it on our calendar. Other things to note... Your pieces will be ready to be picked up in 24 hours. Shipping available with additional fee.

Harlem history with a community leader
Our experience bridges important time periods together. We begin at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, the premier center of its kind in the world. We'll explore how Africans, forced to leave their homeland, came to both the Caribbean and the Americas through slavery. You will understand how they impacted food, music, popular culture and dance with exhibits, film or sound. Their struggle made Harlem a center for social movements from the mid 1880s to the present. We touch on the Trans Atlantic Slave trade, its impact on human relations between American-born citizens and immigrants at that time. We'll delve into the New Negro Movement, which sparked the modern civil rights movement in this country and explore depression-era exhibitions such as the recently restored WPA murals in Harlem Hospital. Together, we’ll discover how we can learn how to heal from the past to move towards a better future. If you know that you will be in town for several days, book early so I can assist with an itinerary that can include a lindyhop or tap dance class and /or food tasting. Other things to note Feel free to bring your own camera to take pictures and dress appropriately for the weather.

We will connect with the spirit of cacao in a sacred ritual with the intention to open our hearts and connect to our higher selves. Upon arrival to our sacred space, you will be welcomed by Danny & Jael to settle in for your experience. We will start by talking about Cacao and the ceremony. We will then do an energy-release exercise followed by a sage cleansing. We will set our intention for the ceremony and open our sacred medicine space by calling on the elements. We will then proceed to ground ourselves by doing shamanic breathwork and flow into a sound healing journey. Once we come out of sound healing we will serve the Cacao. We will infuse the Cacao as a group with our love and drink together as a tribe. While drinking we will share and talk about our experiences. Afterward, we will have healthy snacks, do an oracle card reading, and proceed to close our sacred medicine circle. In these group healing circles the spirit of the Cacao takes us on a beautiful journey, where we open ourselves to connect with our heart, listen to it, and feel it, and in that deep connection, we open the door to healing and forgiveness. We look forward to providing you with an amazing Desert Experience.
