Explore the Cape of Good Hope on foot
The Cape of Good Hope evokes immense drama as massive waves carve away at the base of 700 foot high cliffs. It’s a corner of the globe steeped in cultural & maritime history, but even more so it is famous for its raw natural beauty: both terrestrial as well as marine.
Our journey will begin at my favorite bakery in Kalk Bay for a coffee & pastry before we drive to Simon's Town for encountering our precious, endangered African Penguins.
By mid-morning we’ll arrive at the Cape of Good Hope section of the Table Mountain National Park where our trail shoes can be of use. We’ll hike a mix of rugged mountain trail & stretches of white sand beach. During our hike I will share my knowledge of our botanically rich & diverse Fynbos biome, looking out for wildlife, insects, birds & reptiles along the way too.
We will do a 2.5-3 hour circular hike of an easy to moderate difficulty covering 6 km / 4 miles as well as a 2 km / 1.3 mile exploration of the Cape Point & Dias Beach area on a linear or out-and-back trail of a moderate nature.
We end the day back in Kalk Bay where you can get a drink, grab an early dinner or just head home after ordering an Uber.
Join me for a memorable day exploring the Cape of Good Hope on foot :)
Private Bookings:
- Please get in touch if you are 4+ people to confirm availability.
- Direct pick up/drop off is possible.

Experience the Stellenbosch Winelands
A celebration of smaller vineyards driven by passion, honesty and quality. Our first stop is on the Eastern side of Stellenbosch at the foot of the Helderberg Mountains. This is a special location tucked away in the most northern corner of Paradyskloof (Paradise Valley). Pockets of special vines produce a superlative and memorable first tasting.
A journey through the vibrant and tree lined streets of Stellenbosch town is up next. Steeped in history and charm we'll tell a few stories from the time we spent here during our youth before we reach the Banghoek Valley. Breath-taking views set the tone for an unforgettable experience with the focus on letting our guests understand the sense of place and taste. These award winning wines are brilliantly crafted and produced with the help of the location's very own microclimate. I struggle to believe there is a better setting to taste wine anywhere in the country.
Lunch then takes place at Boschendal's Farm Deli Restaurant on the oldest estate in the region dating back to 1865.
The final destination is at a quaint family owned and run vineyard where we host the tasting privately in their underground cellar below their family home or in their garden often with one of the true matriarch's of the industry and her 5 doggos. 3 different wineries all unique in location, style and charm combining for a true Stellenbosch Winelands experience.

Stellenbosch Wine tour in a small group with a wine graduate
(Starting from Stellenbosch)
Let's go on a full day wine tour to 4 handpicked wineries in Stellenbosch. This tour is usually a small group of up to 6 guests in total.
Experience has proved that the best wine tours are done by visiting two wineries for tastings before having delicious lunch at a vineyard/winery. Then one more winery after lunch to round off the day. The tour starts from central Stellenbosch, but I can also collect you from your accommodation in Stellenbosch area.
I prefer visiting small family-owned wineries to have a more authentic experience. I can also plan the wineries according to your preference of wine. Various styles of wine is produced here, from sparkling to white, rosé, red and dessert wines.
The idea is to get a good understanding of the local wine scene and what makes the area unique.
I am happy to answer all questions regarding grape growing and winemaking. It is also nice to discuss South Africa in general.
Enjoy the scenic tour and wine without worrying about "tasting" and driving.
Half day tours also available, please enquire

African Food and Storytelling Tour
The experience includes about around 5 to 7 stops, where we visit, celebrate and get to listen to African (mainly) food entrepreneurs. We’ll listen to their stories about how they managed to create unique and meaningful community spaces despite harsh and challenging economic and social conditions in a rapidly gentrifying city with little affordable trading spaces available.
This is your invitation to an off-the-beaten-path tour through downtown Cape Town to discover its hidden African food gems — a window, which allows you to explore our diverse Mother City from a unique perspective. This tour focuses on community kitchens and restaurants, which showcase the role of food in different African communities across the diaspora.
What we'll do.
In roughly 3 hours, we showcase how food has the power to hold communities together as we guide you through Cape Town's best hidden African kitchens and restaurants. Let us take you on a culinary journey all the way from South Africa up to Mali, sho't left to Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa, and share insights about the incredibly diverse and complex traditions of Somali food culture and the fragrant spices used in African countries that border the Red Sea. Share some fresh Injera, steaming soft pap, and floral cafe touba with us, while listening to stories about food and community from East-, West, and South Africa.

Bo-Kaap : Walk with a local
We start the tour at 71 Wale Street where we discuss the origins of the oldest suburb in South Africa. Our walk then takes us past the Auwal Mosque, which is the oldest mosque in South Africa, which was started by enslaved people in defiance of Dutch law, in 1794 .
We stop along the way and grab a koesiester, before walking down the street with all the colourful houses. This is the most-photographed street in South Africa. We then work our way towards Cape Town’s famed spice shop, Atlas, where you will smell the heady aromas of spices used in everyday Cape Malay cooking. These are the same spices used by slaves as an expression of freedom in their masters’ kitchens.

We get an early start to avoid the big tour buses as we head to one of only 2 places on the continent where you can experience the African Penguin. These friendly little guys have been kind enough to share their spectacular beach with us. Our next stop is the historic Cape Point National Park in search of Ostriches, Eland and the illusive Cape Mountain Zebra, you'll also have the chance to experience two must have moments: The visit to the Cape of Good Hope Corner and the Lighthouses of Cape Point. A tram trip to the top lighthouse costs 85 ZAR extra if you'd prefer not to walk.

Our final stop is at a destination synonymous with Capetonian foodie culture. The local fisherman of Hout Bay have long been regarded as the best in the business when it comes to delivering the tastiest Fish and Chips in SA. This is a real winner and a must do for lunch during your time here. Our last stretch after a memorable day is along the coastal road via Llandudno Beach and Camps Bay back to your accommodation or drop-off point.

You'll have an opportunity to take in the breath taking views while hiking down to the Cape of Good Hope or ride the fernicular up to the Cape Point light house.
We then depart to Boulders Beach for PENGUIN SPOTTING! You'll have the opportunity to visit the sanctuary and the beach while exploring at your leisure.
After saying goodbye to the penguins, we make our way to our lunch venue at one of THE BEST locations in the Constantia wine district.
The oldest wine producing region in the country where you'll enjoy great food, wine, views and conversation.
This experience is more that just the landscape and natural beauty of Cape Town. I'll discuss the rich history of the city from personal life experience having grown up here. From the dark past, post apartheid legacies and challenges, to the endless potential for this beautiful city and country.
