This beautifully refurbished holiday cottage began life as a modest hay barn on a working farm and has now been completely transformed into a tastefully furnished retreat within just a short distance of some of the best loved towns, beaches and attractions of West Cornwall. Inside, guests will discover a stylish and airy open plan living area complete with two contemporary sofas and a traditional wood burning stove, the perfect place for relaxing in after an activity-filled day; while a fully fitted kitchen is ideal for rustling up delicious dinners and (for those more adventurous cooks) a few home-baked treats. Incorporated into the space on this floor, a convivial dining area creates an inviting place to share meals and conversation, while outside the enclosed private garden tempts morning coffees and alfresco dinners in the sunshine. Upstairs, the cottage’s two spacious bedrooms feature a gorgeous king size bed in the master and twin beds in the second, with high quality mattresses and luxury bedding creating a relaxing place to retreat to for an afternoon nap or a peaceful night’s sleep. Please note that on Wednesday 13th April between 9.30am – 4pm, there will be no electric as there are essential works going on in the local area

From its humble beginnings as one of the buildings on a working farm, Aval Dor Barn was where the farm's potato seeds and chitting were stored; completely functional but not very glamorous. Today, this unassuming building has been reimagined into a beautiful holiday cottage that sits within easy reach of St. Michaels Mount just a few miles away from the market town of Penzance, providing a wonderful base from which to explore the coastline and attractions of west Cornwall. Elegantly furnished and thoughtfully equipped, the cottage offers two spacious upstairs bedrooms (one with a king size and one with twins) to provide sumptuous sleeping for four guests, with the addition of a pull-out single sofa bed in the living room providing extra space for a fifth. The cottage’s private garden is secluded and enclosed with a lush appearance derived from its array of established plants; and has a picnic bench that makes for a relaxing place to enjoy a morning coffee, evening drinks or outdoor dining. Generously proportioned and open plan in layout, the ground floor incorporates a tasteful sitting room complete with traditional cast iron log burner, a roomy L-shaped sofa, a beanbag and a Smart TV. The dining area with its handmade hardwood table, chairs and bench seat is the perfect place for sharing meals, while the kitchen, which comes fully stocked with a range of cookware, utensils and appliances, makes whipping up home cooked creations a breeze.
A double room within my family home occupied by my sons and I. Ludgvan is a picturesque village with lovely countryside walks and beautiful vistas of St Michael's Mount in Mounts Bay. The perfect base from which to explore the beauty of West Cornwall and a short drive to local amenities.
