Bongani's Original Street art to urs
This is a great tour for groups and team experiences especially team building exercises, they gain alot of ways on how to expand their worldly scopes on a daily basis, and multiple levels of how creativity is used beyond the art of drawing, and learning expressions in different forms. On this Street art walk i pay dedicated attention to the world of graffiti, i focus on different levels of graffiti and share unique aspects that are invisible to people who don’t have any affiliation to the art world of the streets. Visitors get a wider knowledge of why the graffiti artist are motivated to do what they do as i give you an in depth explanation of some of the pieces. Graffiti artist are now formal and informal revivers to derelict spaces around Joburg or wherever there's a seemingly mundane culture, with rich stories and history that no one pays attention to. Street art fills up the void, it is that missing culture that is needed to bring life to an environment, it is an expression of thoughts in imagery and the freedom of different minds, who express themselves through spray painting walls and telling different stories. I've been a part of the 4 elements of the hip-hop movement from a very young age so you'll be walking with an insider. Other things to note Please note that this is a walking experience in the Johannesburg city center.

From here, we head onto the streets of "Braam" where we trace its history, development and story while admiring the mixture of old and new buildings and the impact of the beautiful Street Art and Graffiti in the area. As we move along the streets, we chat about the day-to-day happenings of the area and how the migrant nature of the city's residents has played a role in shaping the way Braamfontein is today! Any walk in "Braam" is not complete without a stop at the Kalashnikovv Gallery - a gallery with a revolving door of artists, art, exhibitions and electic characters that add flavour to this neighbourhood! We finish off the tour at the iconic Kitcheners Carvery Bar (or just "Kitcheners" to locals) - it's the second oldest bar in Johannesburg, rich in history and a popular dive bar/locale among the cooler crowd of the city! Once done learning, we skate through Maboneng (one of the world's coolest neighbourhoods, 2018, Forbes) and the Jewel City Precinct which are both redefining life in the inner city. While in Maboneng and Jewel City, we also see some amazing graffiti and street art by both local and international artists such as Dbongz One (SA), Roa (BEL), DALeast (CHN) and Vhils (POR) to name a few! We then head off to see the city's origins in Marshalltown, where we see some of the city's oldest buildings, learn about the city's history from 1886 and hear about the non-racial "Kruger Liquour License" issued to select bars and what made it so special! We end off our experience in Newtown, which is home to the city's first ever multiracial cultural centre (The Market Theatre) and the city's best graffiti due to its association with street culture and the underground clubs found in the area! By the end of it all, you'll have a much better idea of the city of Johannesburg, it's history, what's going on now and how it came to be the way it is today! We think Johannesburg is dope and want to show you why we love it so much...the best part of it all...you'll do it from the fun of a skateboard!
