The Best Charleston History Tour-10am
As the largest Airbnb experience provider in the state of South Carolina and the best History Tour in Charleston. I promise you're going to learn more about history on this tour than on any other tour in this town.
From modern-day Charleston, to how the city came to be, even mind-blowing facts about everything from Slavery to Santa Clause.
But... we start by discussing what's important to you about history. What you like, and what you hope to learn. This allows me to focus the conversation where you want.
I use a story format and I ask you a lot of questions to spur discussion. I'll walk you down the path of Charleston in a funny, interesting, sometimes irreverent way. I'm not going to sugar-coat anything, or drone on about names and dates you won't remember anyway. I will teach you things you did not know, and challenge things you think you know.
We'll start at Waterfront Park. We'll see some amazing sights and have some fascinating discussions about the very colorful history of the early fort of Charles Towne.
When we’re finished we’ll end up very close to where we started, the proud new owners of the most valuable souvenir you can take home from your trip – knowledge.
So come on ya'll, this tour ain't gonna book itself! :)
(Airbnb limit is 10 people, although we sometimes take more. You can always try booking directly on our website at Chucktown Tours)
Sailing in Savannah
After a safety briefing, we'll take a quick ride out of Turner's Creek and raise sail in the Wilmington River. You can sit back and relax or learn how to sail and take control under the guidance of your knowledgeable and friendly captain. While I can't guarantee dolphins, gorgeous sunsets, or new friends, the odds are certainly in our favor. The wind will fill the sails and gently push us along as you get great views of the islands and marshes that make the Lowcountry so beautiful. This is truly a unique experience that will get you off the beaten path and give you a taste of Savannah from a local's perspective!
If you don't see any availability that fits your schedule, just send me a message and I'll try and set something up for you! At this time we are only able to accommodate requests for private trips where your group (up to 6) will have the entire boat to yourselves.

Goat Yoga @ Mini-Farm Flowertown Charm
Goat Yoga is a casual & gentle yoga class, with goats! The goats roam around, cuddle, and play, while in your yoga poses. Our class is for all levels. It is fun, stress-relieving, and often times just quite silly! We hold the class in the backyard of our urban historic home where the goats graze and it is a beautiful setting under the trees. We think this combination is perfect for making you smile all while calming your soul.
The class will be about 45 minutes of yoga with our professional yoga instructor, Joe, who will guide you through the poses accompanied by the goats! Yoga will then be followed by Goat Happy Hour.
Goat Happy Hour is extra time for you to spend with the animals and other class takers to take pictures, enjoy a drink (BYOB if you wish), or purchase any of the farm goods we make and sell here at our mini-farm.
Our classes average 25 people. Our historic home and mini-farm are located in the Heart of Summerville and we are 15 minutes to beautiful Plantations, 35 minutes to downtown Charleston, and 15 minutes to the Charleston airport. We also host our guest rooms at our historic home with Airbnb, so come stay with us and walk right out the back door to take the class and have unlimited goat snuggles! We can also hold private groups of 10+ people, just message us!
Sunset Sail in the Charleston Harbor
After a brief safety speech, we will shove off the dock and head into the scenic Charleston Harbor. As we raise the sails and turn the engine off, you'll immediately feel the relaxation set in and discover why the sailboat is named Mental Heeling (see Instgram at MentalHeeling for more pictures).
You'll be involved as much (or as little) as you prefer as we tack and gybe our way around the harbor together. Views of various landmarks include: Fort Sumter, The Battery, USS Yorktown, Castle Pinckney and the iconic Ravenel Bridge. The conditions for that day (wind, current, tide) will dictate how close we are able to get to the above landmarks.
Guests under the age of 13 will be required to wear a life jacket per the US Coast Guard. I will have adult and child life jackets onboard.

Nennella Sailing on Charleston Harbor
Nennella Sailing offers year-round sunset and daytime charters on a classic 1964 Pearson Vanguard 32-foot sloop. Only about 400 of these yachts were built. Nennella is No. 109. When these boats were made, sailors navigated the seas using paper charts, sextants and the stars above.
Step onto the boat -- with her high bow and raised transom, full keel, original spruce boom, and teak-lined cockpit -- and get unstuck in time: for three hours you will be transported, literally and metaphorically, across the waters of Charleston Harbor and through the history of one of the most fascinating cities in the United States.
First settled in 1670, Charleston became the epicenter of rice production during the antebellum period, and the most significant port of entry in North America of the transatlantic slave trade.
Here is where determined American Patriots defeated the mighty British Navy in the Battle of Sullivan's Island. Here is where the first shots of the Civil War rang out. In this harbor Robert Smalls commandeered the Confederate transport ship CSS Planter and piloted it and its enslaved passengers to freedom. Here the courageous 54th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment fought the Second Battle of Fort Wagner.
The history is rich, troubling, fascinating. Learn about it, as well as the details of contemporary life in Charleston, aboard the classic sailing yacht Nennella!
"Savannah Confidential Walking Tour"
Completely unlike any other area excursion, it’s like eavesdropping on a candid late-night conversation where a close friend shares risqué, strange-but-true anecdotes of the unique –and sometimes bizarre– people, places and things which made the city so infamously freaky in the 1970s through around 2010 – most of which are forgotten or simply never known.
Unlike virtually all Savannah history tours, which focus on the 1700s and 1800s (via info derived from books), these stories are all fewer than three degrees of separation from your guide. In fact, most happened right in front of him! The rest were shared with him by trusted friends. No one else has access or rights to these memories.
Each tour is a bit different, but MAY include tales of criminality, sexual acts, drug use, celebrity sightings, bizarre deaths and foolish behavior - along with the city’s lengthy reputation as a hub of the Deep South’s LGBTQ community, PLUS heartfelt personal recollections of some of the most beloved, gloriously oddball characters of the past 40 years.
Near the end of the tour, we'll stop at a bona fide LEGENDARY dive bar to use the restroom and/or purchase cold beverages to stroll with.
Wear comfortable walking shoes and clothing appropriate for the temperature and humidity. Be aware it will be around 90 minutes before we take our break.
Bring ID for entry into bar. :)
