  • Farm Tours and Alpaca Treks
Your visit begins with a meet up and quick safety briefing on how to interact with the Alpacas and Goats. Then it's off to the chicken yard where you’ll get a hands-on experience with our girls. We’ll talk about the rewards of raising backyard chickens. Collect some eggs to take home with you so you can have the freshest, most nutritious, delicious breakfast ever! Next we'll visit the goats. The goats will come when called and eat leaves from our hands. Everyone will have treats to offer the goats. There will be opportunities for pics all along the way. We'll then set off to our fluffy friends. Alpaca are gentle, friendly, wonderful creatures. You will be amazed at their incredible soft fleece and their large, expressive eyes which seem to exhibit both wisdom and childlike curiosity. Depending on time of day and the weather you may help bring alpaca to their fields to graze or help feed them their daily grain. Guests are welcome to go into the enclosures and interact with the Alpacas and Goats. All will be able to participate in farming activities which may include feeding, moving, or milking. Included in your tour is an “Alpaca Trek” A leisurely 1/2 mile walk across farmland and country roads(guest>7 yrs old). You'll be able to take some great alpaca selfies! Final stop is our farm store where you will have the opportunity to purchase some of our farm products.

  • Appalachian Farm and Mountain Trail Ride
Ride. Restore. (Re)connect. Picture yourself meandering through the idyllic, mountain-framed grounds of an old 300-acre dairy farm located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. On each side you’re surrounded by some of the most stunning flora and fauna in the Eastern US. The two-hour horseback ride takes place on Evan’s family farm in rural Barnardsville, NC. Lovingly referred to as “The Dairy,” the farm was operated from the 1930s until 2008 and has a history almost as beguiling as the land it’s on. (To boot: it used to sell milk to the famous Biltmore Estate!) We’ll begin the trail ride by getting to know each other and our horses. After that, I’ll briefly explain the ins and outs of horseback riding. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or first-timer, a kid or a retiree, it doesn’t matter; anyone can do it. Then we’ll be off, gaining 400 feet of elevation and a lifetime of memories. As a longtime rider and horse enthusiast, I own and operate my business with the mission of giving my guests an unforgettable horseback riding experience. I am convinced that everyone can take something meaningful from mountain trail rides, whether it’s connecting with nature, enjoying a rare moment of solitude, or familiarizing themselves with the incredible equine world. My rides are intimate, resulting in a semi-private riding experience designed to meet the needs of each rider.

You'll see a side of Americas most visited national park that millions of others won't. Bring along your favorite drinks to enjoy while we cruise, we'll provide the ice, appropriate cups and utensils, and light snacks. The boat is equipped with a clean restroom, music, coolers, and enclosed cabin in case of a pop up storm. Other things to note Trips are fully customizable. • Blacksmithing & Brews
Blacksmithing & Brews Here’s your chance to experience the basics of shaping hot steel with a hammer and anvil in our unforgettable blacksmithing workshop. You’ll fire up the forge with our seasoned educator Mo, who’s been teaching hands-on living history at Earthshine for over sixteen years. He’ll guide you every step of the way, helping you work a piece of rough steel into a one of a kind, hand crafted knife form you can take home. You’ll stoke the coal fire, hammer glowing metal straight from forge, and learn all kinds of history, lore, techniques, and tricks about the craft. After the workshop, you can enjoy a local brew on the front deck of our main lodge overlooking Pisgah National Forest and the Blue Ridge Mountains. You can take it easy, soaking up the mountain views while you sip, or work on refining your knife to transform its rugged, fresh-out-of-the-fire look to a smoother, cleaner finish. (We’ll provide the tools!) No experience is needed and all equipment is provided. Ages 13+ are welcome, but you must be at least 21 to be served beer. If you’re under 21, we’ll provide root beer or sparkling water. Each person participating will take home their own wrought iron crude knife form that can be used as a letter opener or simple spreading utensil.
