There are more murals in the San Francisco Mission District than any other neighborhood in the country! Besides the classically known alleys — Clarion and Balmy — many back streets filled with lesser known but equally stunning murals and works of art await your discovery. You (and your companion) ride comfortably and safely in the front of this custom-built rickshaw imported from Indonesia. This rickshaw, known in Indonesia as a becak, enhances the sightseeing experience by having the driver behind you, out of your line of vision. On our ride I share stories behind the art, show you hidden treasures of the neighborhood, and point out funky cafés, bars, and restaurants not always found by tourists. We will end your ride at La Taqueria, the best known in the Mission, for an agua fresca or a mouthwatering taco. Exploring the murals from the comfortable front seat of a becak is a unique and delightful experience. With your safety in mind, this Experience is conducted in the open air, and you won’t be sitting with anyone unless you invited them. The passenger area is disinfected between rides, and the canopy will be used as a screen between you and the masked driver. Other things to note: There’s a blanket and a seat warmer for your comfort, a sound system, and a canopy for rain, sun protection, or privacy.

Temps rarely above 70F (21C) or below 50F (10C). Rain may cancel. Guests should be reasonably fit. Though we don't cover many miles, some of the terrain is steep. It will be necessary to carry small children as strollers are not suitable. Welcome aboard my Downeaster 38, "Fred B. Wood"! Designed by renowned naval architect, Henry Morschlad, this Downeaster is in exceptionally good condition. Downeaster's are known as being stout and seaworthy bluewater cruisers. They can be found all over the globe. This experience is available for up to six guests! (Please note that I recently upgraded to a larger Downeaster 38 from an Ericson 27 which is shown in some of the photos!) Your three-hour adventure starts at Jack London Square. The route will depend on wind conditions; however, our goal is to cross the bay to see the marvelous sites of South Beach Harbor (home of the SF Giants), the financial district, the bay bridge, and then Treasure Island. During the tour, you'll see amazing wildlife; including, flocks of pelicans, sea lions, and the occasional dolphin! This is an active experience! I will review the basics of sailing (wind angle, general terms for operating the vessel, and rules of the road). You will take a turn at the helm (wheel), manage the sheets that control the sails, and raise and lower the sails. Naturally, you are also welcome to just sit back and enjoy the amazing views.

In less than 2 hours you will make art that you can wear. You will have an amazing headpiece using materials that will last for years. Our students have made headdresses to wear for weddings, Day of the Dead, Coachella, Burning Man, High Tea or just because they were going to SF and wanted to wear flowers in their hair. Even if you don't think you are creative, we promise you will be amazed at what you design. The only skill needed is the ability to use a glue gun. We have tricks and tips to make the process fun and easy. We have a curated selection of faux flowers, butterflies, feathers, ribbons, shells and things that sparkle. You can choose to make a floral crown style headdress, a fascinator, a mermaid headdress or a halo zip tie headdress. All of our materials are long lasting so you can wear your headdress for years to come. Bonus: you will be making your headdress on a recycled mannequin head which you can keep to display your headdress on.

You will be hosted by Jus - Jabali Afrika, Romantico & Samaki Mkuu. We will take you on a virtual tour of Kenya through music we've been creating that fuses reggaeton, and rock with African rhythms. We'll introduce you to the majesty of the Swahili language and the beauty of the country. We will kick things with some of the stories that led to us starting to work together before performing a live set integrated with showing a selection of our music videos. Participants are welcome to interact with us as little or as much as you would like but we hope you come ready to enjoy the music. This experience is great for groups, company hangouts and team-building. After this experience, we hope you'll leave with a deeper appreciation of Kenya and its music and culture, and at least a few more words in Swahili beyond Hakuna Matata! We also hope our music will leave you feeling reflective, energized and happy.
