PIVO opened at about the same time that we opened for wood fired pizza (fall 2017). They produce some really amazing beers, named after the small towns surrounding the brewery. We recommend getting a flight!
First of all, the beer is fabulous! Several home brews named after all the surrounding towns! Cool idea and helps in remembering what you liked. One of our favorites is Conover Cucumber and Balltown. This is a must see and taste and only 10 miles south of Decorah on Hwy. 52. The Bru Hop transfer bus will be happy to drive you to and from.
PIVO means beer in the Czech language and that's what you'll get with 40 taps of beer and cider in a taproom nestled between a brewery and art studio. Conveniently located just west of Hwy 52 on the north side of Calmar (9 miles south of Decorah), an amazing variety of ever changing beer styles will always be on tap, along with a few guest beers, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, and delicious food. Our taproom kitchen serves a variety of sandwiches and platters. The taproom is family friendly with a coloring corner for children, a sunny fenced in deck and a grassy beer garden where dogs are welcome. A short spur off the Prairie Farmer bike trail goes directly past our deck and bicycle parking is available. We hope you can join us for a pint or two.
