30 mins by car, just past St Ives, Carbis bay is a long stretch of beautiful sand with a restaurant and bar on the beach. Very popular with families. There are lifeguards on duty during the day in high season (from July - September). Parking is a short but steep walk from the beach.
Site of the G7 conference. Lovely white sand sheltered beach, great water sports centre Ocean sports where you can rent paddle boards, canoes, wetsuits. Often see seals swimming in the bay and hanging out by the rocks. Good beach facilities, toilets, beach bars, restaurants. Park at the station and walk down to the beach or park at the Carbis bay hotel but it can be expensive in peak season.
