江戸時代から伝わる天然藍染の古法を今に受け継ぐ自然界からとれる原料のみを用いた藍染工房。大正8年創業。原料に阿波徳島産の天然藍を使い、灰汁の上澄み液やふすま、清酒などを用いた「灰汁醗酵建て」による深みある美しい色合いにこだわっているのが特徴。壺草苑では藍染職人の丁寧な指導のもと、 天然藍灰汁醗酵建てによる藍染体験ができます。工房にはショールームも併設されているので、職人さんたちが染め上げた美しい藍染作品も購入できます。 Kosoen is a Japanese Indigo Dyeing studio. It rigorously follows traditional indigo dyeing methods Tennen Aizome that have been practiced continuously since the 17th century. Rejecting all artificial materials, they use only supplies and resources acquired from natural sources. The studio offers a dyeing experience for those interested in trying out Aizome, as well as an adjoining store selling clothing and accessories. With the Dyeing experience, You can make your own unique tie-dye handkerchief in few hours.
