Highest place in the BVI, 1700 ft, forest trails, good hike, amazing views
In my opinion Mount Sage National Park is one of the only places on the island where you can get closer nature, the different trails are interesting, Make sure to wear the propper closed up shoes as the trails has no paved surfaces. Each time I go there I am taken back in time.
The highest point in all of the Virgin Islands is Sage Mountain National Park. It is a protected site, with height of 1,716feet.
This is a wonderful Park to visit. Drive or taxi ride to the trail start where there is Jim and his gift shop and restaurant. His drinks are lovely and you can book private evening diner. You can just follow the main trail (as we did) or there are several trails going "off piste" for the more intrepid walkers. The views are stunning as you can see both sides of the island from here. Good walking footwear is recommended and water, of course, other than that it's a good couple of hours in pleasant woodland with fantastic views of the other islands. Jim’s bar at the trail head does famous banana smoothies !
