The Mola Museum - MUMO is a space designed to expose the value of the mola in the Guna and Panamanian indigenous culture. On a tour of its 5 rooms, visitors can learn about its evolution, how it is made, the meaning behind its designs and, above all, contemplate its amazing art.
This unique museum in Casco Antiguo collects a vibrant form of textile art known as molas, created by indigenous Guna artists.
This museum is definitely one of the best contemporary museums in Panama, which explains with a fun tour the creation and historical significance of the Molas, typical of the native communities of the Guna Yala Region. It is free, the tour takes around 35 or 40 minutes.
