“El Parián” (which means “The Market”), began as a commercial passage in 1883. After the 1985 Mexico City earthquake it was occupied by the earthquake´s victims, then it became a market.
The pasaje comercial El Parián is a shopping arcade with shops and restaurants in Colonia Roma.
"Located in the heart of the Álvaro Obregón cultural corridor, this commercial passage has existed since the colony was inaugurated, however it has been remodeled to adapt to the modern needs of the area. Here you can find different types of stores ranging from clothing to coffee shops, but the most notable are the stores that contain contemporary Mexican design items, as they are a reflection of what is currently being created at a cultural level".
