This park is home to lovely walks and is one of the most popular caravan sites in the country! There’s a cycling route along the old railway track which links it to Greenmount - neighbouring Hawkshaw.

Burrs Country Park lies on the River Irwell covering an area of 36 hectares of scenic countryside, one mile northwest of Bury town centre. It has been awarded a Green Flag and features a wide variety of of different wildlife habitats - woodland, open space, wetland, ponds and waterways. The park is a great place to visit, and ideal spot for a range of activities including walking, fishing, picnicking, bird watching and nature study. Some good reviews on local websites, for example: "Amazing place to go with all the family, we walk our dog there often, very scenic with some nice walks. Pub with large beer garden and café on site. Public toilet. Camping site and kids play area".
