Historic homes, many built by sea captains, are on Chestnut Street. Hamilton Hall hosts many events including a Holiday Dance in December, chocolate festival in February and it just received a plaque as a historic site in Women’s Historic trail throughout Boston. The nearby public library on Essex street is also a hole built by a sea captain for his daughter.
