The Museum has a valuable collection representative of the District of Setúbal in the archaeological domain: Prehistoric collections (Lower and Middle Paleolithic, Epipaleolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic, Chalcolithic, Bronze and Iron Ages); Roman and post-Roman times. Collections of ethnography: artefacts related to traditional fishing activities, harvesting, salting, cattle breeding, agriculture, shipbuilding, spinning and weaving, folk art, and rural and urban handicrafts.

Com coleções do paleolítico inferior e médio,pós romanas e coleções etnográficas sobre as actividades tradicionais,como diz o ditado saber não ocupa espaço. With collections of lower and middle Paleolithic, Roman post and ethnographic collections about traditional activities, as the saying goes, knowledge does not occupy space.
