This is our hidden gem. It's where the Rio Grand rift canyon begins to open up to the south. Turn left after crossing the bridge (if driving east towards Antonito, CO) and follow the road along the river. We can tell you how to get to a beach area, and where to find the petroglyphs carved into the basalt. You can fish, crawfish, make a fire and roast marshmallows, or just enjoy laying on the river beach listening to the trickle of the Rio Grande.
