This hidden gem sits just above the neighbouring village of Kamna Gorica. According to Wikipedia, the castle was once the seat of the Upper Carniolan holdings of the noble house of Ortenburg. First mentioned in 1263 as castrum Waldemberch, it was administered by the knights of Waldenberg. The ruins of the castle are not that spectacular, but when you reach them, you'll be rewarded with spectacular views along the valley to Mt Triglav - Slovenia's highest mountain. The town of Kamna Gorica (small rocky hill) is also beautiful and covered in wooden waterways.
