This is a beautiful museum in , converted from an original Carnegie library. This truly is a must see. Named for the pharmacist Jim Gatchell who befriended the Sioux and traded artifacts for medicine, his collection was saved and donated to begin a small museum. The museum has evolved from small-town display cases to an interactive treasure. This museum not only gives a historic overview of the area, but offers unique indigenous artifacts that are regularly blessed in a ceremony by the Lakota Sioux. The gift store has an exquisite selection of jewelry, souvenir t-shirts, a variety of souvenirs and a vast collection of regional historical books.
