The best way to go up to the Castle from S. Jorge - a free 2nd lift - an elevator open until 21:30h. At the top you have the "Miradouro do Chão do Loureiro" viewpoint.

find this hidden elevator and you will save a lot of steps going up and down :-) if you go out from there in the building in front you will find the second elevator and from there you already see the entrance to metro baixa chaido. Feel free to ask me where it is exacly.
