World renowned water treatment concept turned into bird estuary. A must see for birders. Visit Redwood Curtain Brewery on G St. for a cold one afterwards!
A wonderful location for the avid birder. There are many hiking trails and bird watching kiosks which make for a relaxing yet invigorating walk. Views of Humboldt Bay are excellent.
Walk two blocks south on G Street and turn right into the Arcata Marsh. Great trails around several ponds. Lots of birds. Maybe you'll spot the otters. The trails are good for kids on scooters, or just for strolling. The Interpretive Center has cool exhibits and a gift shop.
Visit the Arcata March, a wetland wonderland and bird sanctuary. A series of large ponds filters the city of Arcata's waste water before it drains into the Bay. A literal living bio-filter! Miles of trails winding around the ponds, walk right alongside the Humboldt Bay as you watch the sunset!
