If you see nothing else, see this. You have to pay to get in, but the White tower is over a thousand years old, survived the Great Fire of London, houses the Crown jewels, the famous black birds (Ravens) and the Gentlemen Warders (soldiers) still wear a medieval uniform as they patrol the site.
Good to get there early. It has the Crown Jewels which are absolutely stunning to see and famous 'Beefeaters' are there to talk to you and tell you about the history of the tower.
Historic fortress, royal palace and dungeon built over centuries starting with it's White Tower, constructed in 1078. The guards known as Beefeaters still wear their historic uniforms and love to regale tourists with tales of the Tower's macabre past and famous ghosts. There's also a display of artefacts ranging from armour and weaponry to royal jewels.
Tower of London and London Bridge are closest world famous tourist attractions to our location. Take west bound central line from South Woodford and change at Mile End station to district line. Just walk to opposite platform. Get out at Tower Hill Station and best of London is for you to behold. In just over 20 minutes.
