Bute Park is a major park in the city of Cardiff, capital of Wales. It comprises 130 acres of landscaped gardens and parkland that once formed the grounds of Cardiff Castle. The park is named after the 3rd Marquess of Bute.
Beautiful place for a walk and full of things to do for children and adults. Ideal for a picnic and I would recommend The Secret Garden cafe and for afternoon tea Pettigrew Tea Rooms.
At 56 hectares (equivalent to 75 football pitches), Bute Park is one of the largest urban parks in Wales and comprises a broad mix of historic landscape, urban woodland, sports pitches, arboretum, horticultural features and river corridor. Bute Park offers something for everyone including the Bute Park Education Centre, 3 wonderful cafes, toilet facilities, a woodland balance trail, sculpture trail, fitness trail and a varied events programme.
