Dive with manta rays and mola mola at Nusa Penida, a small island 20km off the south east coast of Bali which boasts some legendary dive sites. It's about 1 hour by speedboat to the manta rays' cleaning stations and feeding grounds. Divers are also often surprised by the sheer number of blue spotted stingrays. Mola Mola season is generally between late July and often into November, but this season varies and these creatures can be spotted sporadically all year round. Nusa Penida can be subject to choppy water and strong underwater currents, so inexperienced/new divers are recommended to take a “private guide”.
