Nice town, cosi carfree center, nice shops, many terraces, medieval wall and fortress, very important religious ( and rich) past. These traces are still there. The Via Francigena, the medieval Pilgrims road ( connecting Jeruzalem with Santiago di Compostela) is today the mainstreet and runs from Porta Parma to Porta Roma.
Sarzana has an enchanting castle. During the summer its' narrow streets are lined with stalls selling anything from antique furniture to jewellery and books, and there are always lots of open-air events and concerts taking place.
Sarzana with its sofisiticated historical center offer antiques shops, fine dinning, cool bistros, wine bars and boutiques - not to be missed is the "soffito nella strada" In august, a fifty year old open air antiques and vintage market, one of the best in Tuscany!
